About Mindful Prime
Mindful Prime is a small, independent site about Chinese classical culture and gentle everyday practice. It is written for readers in their fifties, sixties and beyond — people who have time they did not used to have, and who would rather spend it well than busily.
What we cover
- Wellness — slow movement, Qigong, seasonal food, sleep rituals.
- Wisdom — proverbs, poems and classical stories worth rereading.
- Arts — calligraphy, tea, painting and music as everyday practice.
How we work
Each guide starts from a primary source or a practice we have actually tried. We name our sources, we avoid grand claims, and we keep the language plain. Where research exists we cite it — and where it is thin, we say so rather than dress it up.
Nothing on this site is medical advice. Wellness articles carry a standing notice, and we encourage you to talk to your own doctor before starting anything new.
Who writes it
Mindful Prime is written and edited by the people below. The method is the same for all of us: read the primary source, try the practice, and say plainly where the evidence stops.
The Mindful Prime Editors
Editorial Team
A small editorial team writing about Chinese classical culture, art and gentle everyday wellness practices for readers in their prime years. Each guide is researched from primary sources and reviewed before publication.
Wen Su
Writer & Editor
Wen Su writes about Chinese classical culture and the quiet practices that grow out of it — tea, calligraphy, seasonal cooking and slow movement. Each guide is researched from primary sources or from a practice tried at home, and the claims are kept to what the evidence actually supports.
Ming Chen
Editor & Researcher
Ming Chen works on the research side of Mindful Prime — sources, translations, and the places where a claim would drift past the evidence. The wellness guides, where the line between tradition and medicine has to be held carefully, get the closest reading.
Lian Zhao
Copy Editor
Lian Zhao edits the finished drafts — sentence length, word choice, and the places where a guide quietly assumes knowledge a reader may not have. Also keeps the corrections log and reads the mail: when something here turns out to be wrong, Lian is the one who fixes it and notes the change.
